THE NOT A REPORT OF THE RACES THAT WEREN’T

Report written by Peter C as normal scribe was away for the weekend

Members longing for the erudite ramblings of their usual scribe must unfortunately learn that he is absent on family matters – almost all the club was absent this easter weekend.
Willy Weather opined, in kmh, 10 to 15 knots falling over the course of the afternoon before building to 15 to 20 by evening. Intrepid skippers arriving, and there were few of them, stood below the deck buffeted by a south easterly and gazed at the white caps – WW had underestimated.
Only Michael was keen. The commodore arrived prepared to sail but only 2 starters? Andrew D arrived to make a third. Peter V consulted his phone, which chose that minute to update. South Channel was 22kmh and gusting above 25. Decisive as always AP was posted over A. The wind at South Channel dropped but the gusts rose. Andrew D opined to the effect that “it’s often ***** weather at Easter!”
Michael went home to get his windsurfer. Glenn thought he’d come back for a look see. The C and VC went to talk “club business”. The rest of us went home.
Next Week?????? The joys of sailing!!!!!!

Photos from Easter Saturday 2024. Looked like a nice day.
