Your scribe was not planning a race report for the weekend of Sail Bellarine but would like to acknowledge the incredible hard work put in by organisers Peter E and Julie C. The time and effort required to create a smooth operation for all volunteers is considerable and the results are a credit to all involved. Thanks are also due to Col Dods who comes from Blairgowrie YC to be principal RO and to the crew of the finish boat from St Leonard’s and all volunteers who came together to put on a regatta for about 90 boats.

Our club sailors were all competitive with Aidan S winning ILCA 6; Callum was up there until he had an unfortunate confrontation with a black flag in race 3 and dropped to 9th. Peter C was 12th. In the ILCA 4’s Harry C was 8th. Mike W was third in the very competitive OK Dinghy class. In Sabres Andrew D finished a very credible fourth behind three boats that finished each race in the same first, second and third sequence. Tony C was 9th and Lucy 12th.

It was with great regret that Sunday was blown away.
